Kupe and the Corals
Dr. Padilla Gamiño is the author of the children’s book ‘Kupe and the Corals’! This book is about Kupe, a young boy who undertakes an amazing voyage of discovery to learn about corals and the importance of coral reefs to all of the many animals that depend upon them. The book has been translated in Spanish, Hawaiian and Tahitian. The book has been used by elementary school teachers from Hawaii to develop lesson plans according to the next generation science standards. Throughout my research work I have had the opportunity to transmit my findings and explore and learn from the ocean with the public. You can see some video clips here.
